writing biography

Farah Rose Smith is the author of the novellas Anonyma, The Almanac of Dust, and Lavinia Rising. Her first collection of short fiction, Of One Pure Will, was released by Egaeus Press in 2019 and was re-released by Trepidatio Publishing in September of 2021. Smith's writing has appeared in Lackington’s Magazine, Darker Magazine (Russia), Spectral Realms, Vasterien Literary Journal, Nightscript, Dead Reckonings, and more. She holds a BA and MA from Hunter College, the former in Comparative Literature and the latter in English with specializations in Disability Theory, Medieval literature, weird and supernatural short fiction of the 19th and 20th centuries, and Avant-garde poetics. When she's not writing, she enjoys flameworking glass beads, accumulating salvage materials, vintage fashion, and antiques, playing guitar, and making short experimental films. Smith lives in New York City with her partner, novelist Michael Cisco, and their three cats.
